World Press Freedom Day 2015: Press for More Award opens for application


The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) together with a group of media associations have joined the Brussels Platform for Journalism and iMinds, a Brussels-based digital research institute, to launch the Press for More Award meriting entrepreneurial and innovative ways of doing journalism.

The prize will go to an individual or organisation that has created an impact on improving quality of journalism through new ways of reporting, storytelling, investiations, interactions, platforms, projects, tools, services, products, business models, etc.

Winner of the award will be given 10.000€ on the World Press Freedom Day on 3 May 2015 to further develope the initiative or to explore new paths to improve journalists.

The jury of the award include representatives of the following partner organisations:

• WAN-IFRA Global Alliance for Media Innovation
• EBU – European Broadcasting Union
• ACT – Association of Commercial Television in Europe
• EPC – European Publishers Council
• EFJ – European Federation of Journalists
• The Lisbon Council
• iMinds

  2. Longplay.fi, Finnish “very slow journalism” platform.
  3. Parallaxi, monthly free press magazine from Thessaloniki (Greece) focused in city affairs and culture.
  4. Bloggers Without Borders, cooperative news agency and widespread network producing enriched and innovative content through a multilingual website.
  5. – Soft Censorship Report Hungary, a new study to improve press freedom in Hungary.
  6. Yournalism, a demand­ driven platform for investigative journalism.
  7. – Fonds pour le journalisme, a new web site for quality journalism.
  8. – MEDIANE & its Box for Media Diversity Inclusiveness, a self-monitoring tool for measuring capacities for including diversity in media content.
  9. – Pressformore, a digital platform on which readers can import journalistic productions found on the web and send monetary rewards to their favorite authors.
