The media industry is undergoing a period of self-reflection. Despite enjoying higher levels of trust and more credibility than many of their national counterparts, local and regional media have been hit particularly hard by the pressure for digital transformation and the decline in revenue from copy sales and advertising. Moreover, there is pressure at all levels to fight fake news through better media literacy at all levels and highly trusted local media journalism.
The EPP Group in the European Committee of the Regions invites you to debate the main challenges and innovations for local and digital media on 4 December, as part of it’s Winter University 2017.
