The Council of Europe, within the framework of the 10th plenary meeting of the Steering Committee on Media and Information Society (CDMSI), held in Strasbourg on 28/6-1/7, will organise a Workshop on the implementation of CoE standards on the protection of journalism and safety of journalists and other media actors on the 30th of June 2016.

The main objective of this event is to launch a debate among the CDMSI members on how to facilitate the implementation of the pillars set out in the Council of Europe CM/Rec(2016)4 and to provide a forum to member States to exchange best practices on the safety of journalists.

The EFJ GS, Ricardo Gutiérrez will participate as a panelist to this event, in order to inform CDMSI members and to exchange views with them on the results of the CoE On-line Platform to promote the protection of journalism and the safety of journalists, after one year of its operation.
