“Voices of Inclusion” at CivilMedia UnConference

When? 15 June 2017

Where? Salzburg, Austria

On June 15th, COMMIT and the Community Media Forum Europe (CMFE) are organising in Salzburg, Austria, the theme day „Voices of Inclusion“ from 10:30 until 17:30 at the Civilmedia-Conference.

The event opens up a framework for presentations, debates and workshops – they present proven and new multilingual media projects from and with refugees and migrants, which should function as spaces for linguistic and political entry points of inclusion. What kind of support do people fleeing war and poverty need for their media work in the context of Community Radios and TVs or online-platforms when arriving? What kind of experiences in media were and are important to migrants as entry points into the local society and as orientation into a new home?

Experiences (results/outcomes) from projects will be discussed with representatives from media, solidarity initiatives (NGOs), science and economy. The following workshops should provide the opportunity to exchange ideas, cooperations and programmes.

All those who want to present their media project on the theme day „Voices of Inclusion“ please mail COMMIT / Helmut Peissl hp@commit.at  For a limited number of participants travel and subsistence expenses can be reimbursed on request.

This event is supported by the Council of Europe and is a preparation for the international conference „Migration and Media Awareness 2017“ from November 24th to 26th at Kulturfabrik Kampnagel in Hamburg (Germany).
