The Seminar is co-organised by the Council of Europe and the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI).

The Seminar aims at providing a forum for reflection and discussion on the competences and activities of national human rights institutions and other national mechanisms related to freedom of expression, including safety of journalists, as well as on the identification of synergies between the work of the Council of Europe and the national human rights institutions. The Seminar further seeks to explore possibilities for future cooperation between these institutions in the area of freedom of expression.

The EFJ will be represented by its president, Mogens Blicher Bjerregård.
