The Future of Media Innovation in the EU Research Agenda post-2020

May 24, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

On behalf of the two Horizon 2020-funded innovation projects I3 and MediaRoad there will be a working lunch at the European Parliament on “The Future of Media Innovation in the EU Research Agenda post-2020”. This high-level event is hosted by Dr. Christian Ehler, co-chair of the Intergroup Cultural and Creative Industries

The aim is to foster a debate on the role and relevance of media and the creative sector in the next European research agenda post-2020, and in particular in the newly announced Horizon Europe. The European media and creative sector has huge innovative potential and greatly contributes to the developments of research and innovation in Europe. However, to maintain this key role in today’s globally convergent market and foster the future developments of the sector, adequate support and investment in R&D, technological innovation and creative content production are pivotal. In this context, this event aims to explore new support schemes for the media industry and to present the sector’s policy vision on the next European Research Agenda post-2020.

Representatives of EU Institutions as well as the key European media and creative sector industry representatives have been invited to the debate and the event will feed into the broader discussion on the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and its R&D Framework Programme, Horizon Europe.
