The Council of Europe, in cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus, is preparing a Conference of Ministers Responsible for Media and Information Society on ‘Artificial intelligence – Intelligent politics: Challenges and opportunities for media and democracy’ (28-29 May 2020, Nicosia, Cyprus). This Ministerial Conference will address the following main subjects: impacts of AI-powered technologies on freedom of expression; challenges stemming from the changing media and information environment; and safety of journalists.
