{"id":962,"date":"2014-11-24T09:02:07","date_gmt":"2014-11-24T08:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/e-f-j.eu\/?p=962"},"modified":"2014-11-24T09:02:07","modified_gmt":"2014-11-24T08:02:07","slug":"efj-annual-meeting-supports-for-ethical-journalism-in-russia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/europeanjournalists.org\/fr\/2014\/11\/24\/efj-annual-meeting-supports-for-ethical-journalism-in-russia\/","title":{"rendered":"EFJ Annual Meeting Supports Ethical Journalism in Russia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some 53 delegates from 26 countries representing trade union organsations and professional associations of journalists at the Annual Meeting of the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) in Moscow on 21 November expressed their solidarity and full support for ethical journalism and the struggle of Russian Union of Journalists (RUJ) to defend independent journalism and the safety of journalism.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Annual Meeting commenced with a minute of silence to remember the 56 journalists who were killed for doing their jobs since 1993 in Russia.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2018Journalists in Russia are facing a great challenge today. We need more than ever solidarity, unity and dialogue,\u2019\u2019 said the EFJ President, Mogens Blicher Bjerreg\u00e5rd.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the Annual Meeting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osce.org\/fom\">Dunja Mijatovi\u0107, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media <\/a>told the meeting that \u00a0\u00bbWe need to offer our full and genuine support to RUJ to resist media propaganda.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Russian media is in dire need of self-examination.
