The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) together with the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) will organise a two-day workshop on ”Editorial independence in the newsroom” in Brussels.
The workshop aims
– to exchange of best practices on the functioning of editorial board to ensure editorial independence;
– to explore other self-regulatory mechanism in place to ensure editorial independence such as code of ethics, editorial policy, collective bargaining tools;
– to demonstrate the capacity of individual journalists as well as trade union representatives for journalists to advocate for editorial independence.
– to develop a plan of action to be implemented at their workplace, in order to ensure there are self-regulatory measures in place to ensure editorial independence
