European Federation of Journalists

Voices Awards for Journalism: Call for entries

Come to the Voices Festival as an awardee!

The Voices Awards are organised within the Voices Festival, a brand-new itinerant event co-funded by the European Commission to celebrate Journalism and Media Literacy in Europe. It will recognize the works of journalists that best convey the values and goals of the Voices Festival, which will take place in Florence on 15-16 March 2024.

The award winners will receive a monetary award of €1.000 each and will have a dedicated space to present their work to the Festival community.

Journalists can apply to one of the five categories:

1. Up-and-coming: innovative and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence in journalism

You fit the profile if you’re a journalist and/or media outlet using AI to enforce journalistic objectives and maintain journalistic ethical standards.

2. Impact: cross-border investigative reporting

We encourage you to apply if you’re a journalist and/or media outlet who conducted cross-border investigations on European issues driving real-world change.

3. Local resilience: the most innovative and successful business model for local reporting

If you are a local media outlet or collaborative team that is supporting local communities through news by their sustainable business model, with a focus on innovation and impact, this award could be yours.

4. Remarkable youth: promising journalists under 30

This award is for young journalists showcasing outstanding work and making a notable impact in their field.

5. Fighters: journalists and media organisations working in emergency situations
