EFJ Annual Meeting 2017, Bucharest
The 2017 Annual Meeting (AM) of the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) will be hosted by its Romanian affiliate Fair MediaSind on 18 and 19 May 2017 in Bucharest. Around 100 delegates and guests from across Europe will be attending the meeting in Bucharest.
Delegates of the EFJ AM 2017 will adopt a series of resolutions and statements. Final versions will be available for download here after the meeting.
Member unions and associations with voting rights and the Steering Committee have the right to submit motions which are of journalists’ and journalists’ unions and associations’ interest in Europe. They must be submitted to the Steering Committee at least one month before the AM (not later than 18 April). Urgent motions can be submitted until the opening of the AM and must be accepted with the approval of at least two-thirds of the voting delegates present. Motions at the Annual Meeting cannot deal with EFJ rules.

Hotel rate: (to be confirmed) 100 to 120 EUR/person/night, including breakfast, coffee break, lunch and dinner (supplement for the second person in the room: 50-60 euro/night, including accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner).
At the airport
Arrivals and departures are currently NOT organised by EFJ. FAIR MediaSind will propose a cheap transfer option, in coordination with the hotel. Public transportation is easily available from the airport to the hotel.
Location of meetings
All meetings of the AM will be held at Phoenicia Grand Hotel, Avenue Alexandru Serbanescu 87 District 1 014268 Bucharest, Romania. The AM will start on Thursday 18th May, at 1:30 pm and will end on Friday 19th May at 1:30 pm.
EFJ Steering Committee (only for SC members) meeting is scheduled at 8 am on 18th May.
The Bucharest Henri Coandă International airport (IATA code: OTP) is located in Otopeni, 11 km from the hotel. Public transportation is available from the airport to the hotel.
